Venture Partner, Suir Valley Ventures

We are looking for an Experienced Venture Partner to join our growing team. This role reports to the Managing Partner of Suir Valley Ventures and can be offered either as full time or part-time, with flexible working conditions for the right candidate.

It is expected that the Venture Partner will focus on the following responsibilities:
  • Source investment opportunities, develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders, coordinate due-diligence, construct and negotiate term sheets, attend to legal documentation, close and exit Investments, with a particular focus on software venture capital Seed stage opportunities.
  • Source potential investments through active outreach and relationship-building to the entrepreneurial community, strategic partners and academia.
  • Oversee deal teams in close collaboration with the General Partners and legal counsel.
  • Prepare and present business case analysis and risk evaluation for investments, including proposals to the Fund’s Investment Committee.
  • Lead transaction negotiations.
  • Manage portfolio investments through frequent interaction with company leadership (management, board, other investors) and strategic partners; and represent the Fund as a Director on the board, ensuring progress against company key target milestones and financial benchmarks.
  • Ensure high-quality interactions and provide clear and consistent communications with internal and external partners.
  • Selectively represent and speak on behalf of the Fund at relevant events and conferences.
  • Formulate new investment strategies, and execute strategies for new investments.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Managing Partner on the origination pipeline development, individual deal status and issues and portfolio company progress.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following experience:
  • Substantial entrepreneurial experience in the software industry, including executive experience in a venture capital backed high growth software company, ideally as Founder or CEO.
  • Previous experience as a Venture Partner or Principal in a Venture Capital Fund or a significant track record as an Angel investor.
  • Experience as Board Director and of start-up corporate governance, ideally with multiple software companies.
  • Substantial experience negotiating contracts and ideally investment agreements as an entrepreneur and investor.
  • Substantial experience in strategy development for software start-ups.
  • Substantial experience in selling software products/services.
  • Substantial experience is software product management and product marketing.
  • An excellent understanding of cash-flow management and entrepreneurial accounting and corporate finance.
This role reports to the Managing Partner of Suir Valley Ventures.
  • Salary: Negotiable.
  • Carry: Negotiable for deals the Venture Partner sources and manages.
  • Location: Ireland.
