Wia Selected for Blackbox Connect Accelerator in Silicon Valley

Wia, one of the leading developer platforms for building Internet of Things applications, has been selected for the Blackbox Connect accelerator in Silicon Valley with support from Google for Entrepreneurs.

Blackbox Connect is a global program that brings together a curated cohort of fellow founders from across the globe for an immersed residential experience in San Francisco. Blackbox is a global nonprofit committed to promoting equality of entrepreneurial opportunity through access to resources, mentorship, and immersive programs in the heart of Silicon Valley.

The nomination for Blackbox Connect came from Dogpatch Labs, a startup hub based in the the historic CHQ Building and in the heart of Dublin’s Digital Docklands.

Wia, founded by Conall Laverty, is developing the “universal language of things”, making it possible to for all people, devices and services to talk to one another without needing to know the technicalities of each. The platform is used by developers in over 100 countries and has received €1m in venture backing with investors including Suir Valley Ventures, Enterprise Ireland and NDRC. Wia is the only Irish company to be selected for this Blackbox Connect cohort.
